My name is Jinny. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico where I lived until we moved to Florida in 2007 and Georgia after that. Yes, that makes Spanish my first language. I’m married to my soul mate, the most amazing country guy in the world. We have three daughters, two human and a shih tzu. We live in a small town 45 minutes north from Atlanta where nothing happens pretty much all year round.
I worked in the corporate world with Fortune 500 companies for most of my professional career when a personal tragedy struck me. I grieved, and grieved, and grieved some more. I learned a lot through the whole healing process, but the most important lesson I learned was that life was too short to not enjoy it to its fullest. I decided then and there that I would no longer work on something that did not bring me happiness. I said goodbye to the corporate world and started studying event planning like a person with an MBA would (which I have).
I wanted to know everything, the more I learned, the more convinced I was that the event world was my divine call. I took several unpaid internships to learn more. I did a lot of crafting with the first one and a lot of wedding coordination with the second one. A year later I landed my first paid job with a university as an event planner. I worked on many events from small to large, from museum’s opening receptions to weddings and even a breakfast for a former United States President. I gained the logistics experience that I was personally looking for to validate all my hours of studying. I was now ready to get my hands on what got me all riled up with the event industry in the first place, BEAUTY.
I’m a fanatic for anything beautiful. I love the rush I have when I find something sublime. I stop breathing for a split second, gasp, my eyes open wide and the smile is instant. Sometimes I sing and dance in the middle of the store because one I don’t care what other people think about me as I enter “THE ZONE” and two because I’m still alive and I can. On occasion, I have even found myself with goosebumps and tears in my eyes. It is in that moment that I realize I have found what I was looking for, or what I didn’t even know I was looking for.
This blog is my creative outlet and the medium to share my finds, creations, and crazy ideas. I think about parties EVERY single day therefore I’m always researching new products, imagining new themes, creating tablescapes, researching new venues and vendors, etc. It might seem like a lot of work for somebody else, but to me… my job is my hobby and my hobby is my job. If you can find inspiration in a door nail or need some ideas for your next event, you have come to the right place.
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
With beauty in my heart,
